Done
in New York in 1968 by Kanyo, the work is a nude study,
drawn in the classic style, encompassing the artist's
ability to express the relaxed body. The bearded man
is asleep in a chair in front of the windows, with warm
sunlight streaming in. The charcoal medium emphasizes
Kanyo's sure-handed drawing. the work is in a special
glass covered frame of dark wood, with lighter interior,
designed to keep the charcoal from smudging. This work
of art measures 46"h x 50 ½"w.
