    Math and Language Arts skills can be honed using the online games and activities on this site. When a child completes a quiz or activity, an e-mail can be sent to a parent or teachers spreading the good news.

    iFigure provides links to online calculators and worksheets; including interactive and educational tools that can provide information to help in planning for the future and dealing with the present.

  • The National Math Trail
    The National Math Trail is an event that will occur from March through May, 2000. Starting in March, students will begin exploring their communities and creating community-based math problems. All submissions will be posted during National Math Trail Week, May 15-19, 2000.

    Lessons and resources for math teachers of all ages. The references are very useful, such as English-Spanish Math Translations and the Glossary of Math Terms. You can generate Algebra Worksheets online, as are test prep for the SAT, ACT and more. Some links on this site are for registered (often paying) users, but there is much a math teacher to use with his/her classes.

  • sprocketWORKS
    This site uses shockwave files to let you tour the night sky, play logic games, and learn how to groom a horse. Plan on spending some time on this site trying out the different areas. Covers music, economics, science, art, and geography.

  • FleetKids
    FleetKids, created by Fleet Financial Group and the Headbone team, is a site that allows kids to expand their of mathematic, financial, and social concepts, including: setting goals, saving and budgeting, balancing "needs" and "wants", learning to work with teams, and developing solutions. The activity book includes lesson plans(for grades 4-6)to place these fun games in a more educational context. You or your students will need to register before playing most of the games. Ads can be a little distracting, but overall, this is an engaging site.

  • Math Archives
    This comprehensive source covers a wide range of different topics in mathematics, software, and teaching materials.

  • FunBrain.com
    FunBrain.com produces kids learning games for K-8 kids and teachers, although games are sorted by age. The focus is on providing teachers, parents, and kids with the tools they need to succeed.

  • International Conversion Helper Resources
    This site includes links to currency converters providing up-to-date information on almost every currency. Also available are metric-imperial conversions for length, weight, temperature, etc. and time zone conversions.

  • Curious and Useful Math
    This site contains math trivia and facts along with multiplication, division and squaring tricks. It's a bit of mind-stretching fun!

  • Internet Educational Workbook
    The INEW site is great for practicing basic math. It is worthwhile spending time getting to know the site as it has a good deal to offer K- 6 students. A hardcopy version and an interactive version are available.

  • Math Square
    With the Daily Mathematics Lesson on the horizon, this site may well help to bridge a gap. It is based on the simple idea of the magic number square but made more interesting for students merely by virtue of the fact that it is played live on the Web.

    Mega-Math is a project of the Los Alamos National Laboratory designed to expose children and teachers to unusual and/or important math concepts and developments. The site features projects and games, stories, writings and reference materials.

  • Brain Teasers!
    You find The Brain Teaser both entertaining and mentally challenging. Each Wednesday evening this site will provide you with three new Brain Teasers, one at each of three grade ranges (3-4, 5-6, 7+). Solutions will be posted on the following Wednesday. So go ahead and try one of the puzzles and see if you can come up with the correct answer.
