    an interesting online reference tool that combines the functions of a dictionary and a thesaurus in one easy-to-use search interface.

  • Handspeak
    A practical sign language online dictionary. Contains some signs not found in other online dictionaries. Approximately 2800 signs and growing daily.

  • Xrefer
    Searches encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri, books of quotations, and a number of subject-specific titles.

  • Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition
    With over 50,000 article entries, 40,000 bibliographic citations, and over 80,000 cross-reference entries, the Columbia Encyclopedia, 6th edition contains much more data than many multi-volume encyclopedias.

  • Highschool Hub
    A good portal (starting page) for high school students. This website has all the major categories an earnest student would look for, as well as reasonable graphics (they don't take forever to load). Good links in each area, but not a large number, which makes for easy navigation.

    The Office of Library and Information Systems (OLIS) provides library services to eligible blind and physically handicapped individuals in Rhode Island through Talking Books Plus, the RI Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
