Instructional
Television (ITV)
What
is ITV?
Instructional
Television refers to programs that are developed specifically
for classroom use. Because of their short length (10 to
20 minutes each) and focused subject matter, they integrate
easily into educational plans.
Several
of these programs include Teachers'
Guides that contain lesson plans, discussion questions
and other materials that help teachers integrate program
to the classroom teaching.
Over
184 ITV series, covering 13 core curriculum areas, are
broadcast weekdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during
the school year. This service is provided at no cost to
all K-12
Rhode
Island schools.

ITV
Survey 2003 - 2004
The purpose of this survey is to collect
information about the educational services being offered
by our TV station, present use, and to elicit your suggestions
on ways that strengthen our education services delivery
in the near future. Please complete the items and be as
frank as possible. Being less than truthful, in an attempt
to be kind, will not help us improve our education services.
Thanks in advance for your help with this survey.
Rhode
Island PBS Membership Director Rhonda Aleixo accepts a $7,000
check from MetLife Foundation representative David Pate,
on the grounds of the MetLife facility in Warwick.
This generous contribution supports publication of the 2003-2004
Rhode Island PBS Instructional Television Program Guide.
The guide is distributed to over 10,000 educators each year
and is considered an excellent resource by classroom teachers.
